About Our Physicians

Rodney Hawk, M.D.
Board-certified Otolaryngology

Dr. Rodney J. Hawk graduated from the University Of Pittsburgh School Of Medicine and completed his residency at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh Eye & Ear Hospital.  Dr. Hawk was in private practice in Hendersonville until joining Park Ridge Ear Nose and Throat in April 2013.

Shannon Hunter, M.D.
Board-certified Otolaryngology

Dr. Shannon Hunter has been providing care as a general otolaryngologist at Western Carolina Ear, Nose and Throat Specialists in Clyde, N.C., since 2003. She attended medical school at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine and completed her internship and residency at Duke University Medical Center. Dr. Hunter served on the Board of Directors at Mountain Area Health Education Center (MAHEC) from 2010 to 2013, and has held the role of Haywood Medical Society’s Legal Representative to the North Carolina Medical Society since 2008. From 2010 to 2012, Dr. Hunter served on Western Carolina Medical Society’s Board of Directors.

Michael Neuenschwander, M.D.
Board-certified Otolaryngology

Dr. Michael Neuenschwander has a medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. He has been in practice for eight years and is fluent in Spanish. He practices general otolaryngology in adults and children and has a specialty interest in voice and swallowing disorders; and thyroid and parathyroid surgery. He is extensively trained in laser and microsurgery of the vocal cord and uses a multidisciplinary approach to voice and swallowing disorders. Dr. Neuenschwander is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology and American Rhinologic Society.

Michael Stalford, M.D.
Board-cerified Otolaryngology
Dr. Michael Stalford has a medical degree from the University of Virginia with Alpha Omega Alpha honors. He completed his Otolaryngology training at Walter Reed Army Medical and spent eight years at Fort Campbell. During that time, he was Chief of the ENT service and obtained the rank of Lieutenant Colonel (LTC). Dr. Stalford has been in practice for 10 years and is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology.
