Cardiology Services

Choosing the right hospital to care for your heart could be one of the most important decisions of your life.  At Park Ridge Health, we provide comprehensive cardiology care via a full spectrum of cardiovascular diagnostic and interventional services. Services include:

Diagnostic Stress Testing (Inpatient and Outpatient)

These tests are extremely valuable in determining the health of your heart. They include:

  • Basis stress test
  • Transthoracic echocardiogram (includes Transthoracic Echo, Color Flow Study, and Cardiac Doppler)
  • Stress echocardiogram.
  • Dobutamine stress echocardiogram
  • Nuclear stress cardiolite
  • Pharmacological Nuclear Stress Cardiolite (including Lexiscan, Dobutamine, Adenosine, and Persantine)
  • Holter and 30-day event monitor.

Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation

A staff of physiologists, advance cardiac life support nurses, certified respiratory therapists, registered dietitians and behavioral health professionals work together to provide telemetry-monitored exercise, daily education sessions, dietary counseling, consultations with psychologists and cholesterol monitoring.

These services are available Monday, Wednesday and Friday for one hour and require a physician's referral.

Cardiac Rehabilitation

Cardiac rehabilitation helps heart patients to recover quickly and to improve their overall physical, mental and social well being. The goal is to stabilize, slow or even reverse the progression of cardiovascular disease, thereby reducing the risk of heart disease, a cardiac event or death. Our cardiac rehabilitation programs address:

  • Stable Angina
  • Post CABG
  • Post MI
  • Heart Valve Repair/Replacement
  • PTCA or Coronary Stent
  • Heart or Heart-Lung Transplant

Pulmonary Rehabilitation

Pulmonary rehabilitation is an integral part of the clinical management and health maintenance of patients with chronic respiratory disease who are symptomatic or continue to have decreased pulmonary function. Our pulmonary rehabilitation services address:

  • COPD
  • Sarcoidosis
  • Cystic Fibrosis
  • Simple Chronic Bronchitis
  • Mucopurulent Chronic Bronchitis
  • Obstructive Chronic Bronchitis
  • Other Emphysema
  • Asthma
  • Bronchiectasis

Additional Cardiac Services

Our goal in the cardiology services division is to promote healthy hearts through comprehensive services and education. That's why we also offer the following:

  • CPR Classes. Certification is available for professional staff and also open to the community.
  • Exercise and education classes. Exercise classes for risk factor modification are offered Monday, Wednesday and Friday. They are monitored by a certified fitness instructor. Classes include cardiovascular and strength training, with blood glucose, blood pressure and heart rate checked daily. We also offer yoga. All classes are open to the community and are taught by a certified yoga instructor. Classes emphasize basic stretching techniques for improved flexibility.
