Breast Health Center

The best protection is early detection. The Park Ridge Breast Health Center is dedicated to women's breast health and it offers a patient-centered environment and multi-disciplinary team approach for women with cancerous and non-cancerous breast conditions.

The center also offers same-day mammogram results so women don't have to wait. A consultation with a specialist within 24 hours and advanced imaging technology are key services.

The center is accredited by the American College of Surgeons' National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), and is a member of the National Consortium for Breast Centers.

State-of-the-Art Services

The Park Ridge Breast Health Center provides services to women who are concerned about their breast health and simply wish to have:

  • Genetic counseling and genetic testing
  • Education about breast self exams
  • Routine clinical breast exam by highly trained specialists
  • Digital mammography

The center serves women who have discovered a breast lump or have an abnormal mammogram and provides: ultrasound, needle biopsy, image directed biopsy and breast MRIs.

An array of services is also offered to women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. Services include:

  • Genetic testing of high risk individuals
  • Second opinion of diagnosis
  • Consultations of mammography films or pathology
  • Latest breast cancer treatments including chemotherapy, immunotherapy and antiangiogenesis therapy
  • Medical oncology
  • Radiation oncology
  • Infusion center
  • Breast reconstruction surgery
  • Lymphedema therapy
  • Adjuvant treatments
  • The SAVI – a catheter used to administer radiation therapy to the breast in women who have had a lumpectomy for breast cancer
  • Oncotype DX: a multi-gene analysis of the cancer tumor itself which helps us quantify recurrence risk and individualize your treatment
  • Referral for participation in clinical trials, if appropriate
  • Home health services, if appropriate

Women who have non-cancerous breast conditions such as: Fibroadenoma, Fibrocystic breasts, breast pain, mastitis, nipple discharge or breast implant problems will also benefit from services offered at the Park Ridge Breast Health Center.

Emotional Support and Ancillary Services

The dedicated staff at the Park Ridge Breast Center treats breast health in a holistic manner. As a result, they offer:

  • Support groups for patients and families
  • Look Good, Feel Better/Reach to Recovery through the American Cancer Society
  • Nutritional counseling through a registered dietician to discuss side effects of treatment such as loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting or weight gain
  • Patient and family Education through the resource center
