Hendersonville, N.C. (September 3, 2010)– The Park Ridge Wellness team will offer a free presentation on the healthy benefits of a strong social network, or “Moai,” on Thursday, Sept. 16,  beginning at noon in the Duke Conference Room, located in Park Ridge Health’s main building. The presentation is free, open to the public and does not require a reservation.

In the book, The Blue Zones, author Dan Buettner shares the philosophy of one of the world’s healthiest cultures and a Blue Zone, where social networks, or “Moais” are an integral part of the culture and social fabric. Jodi Grabowski, Park Ridge Wellness coach, and Julie Palmer, Park Ridge Wellness community educator, will discuss the positive impacts of a social network on health, and will offer tips on how to create and utilize a Moai to improve overall health and well-being.
