Hendersonville, N.C. (August 27, 2010) — Southeastern Sports Medicine is proud to announce that Robert Garfield, D.P.M., F.A.C.F.S., and Brian Stover, D.P.M., both podiatrists, have joined the Southeastern Sports Medicine team.

Dr. Robert Garfield received his Bachelor of Science degree from Kent State University, and continued in research for one year, before beginning his studies at the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine. Dr. Garfield graduated in 1984 and moved to Chillicothe, Ohio for his residency. He has practiced in the Asheville area for more than 20 years, and is board-certified in foot and ankle surgery. Dr. Garfield is actively involved in many community activities such as the Rotary Club and Boy Scouts of America, as well as participating in medical mission work.

Dr. Brian Stover earned his bachelor’s degree from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio and his medical degree in Podiatry from Barry University in Miami Shores, Fla.  He completed his residency and served as the Chief Resident at Dayton VA Medical Center, in Dayton, Ohio.  Dr. Stover completed his fellowship in foot and ankle reconstruction and research at the Professional Education and Research Institute in Roanoke, Va.  He practices general podiatry for adults and children and has a specialty interest in wound care. 

Both Dr. Garfield and Dr. Stover will lend their expertise to the team at Southeastern Sports Medicine’s many locations, and Dr. Stover will also continue his work with the Park Ridge Health Center for Wound Care.
