Hendersonville, N.C. (January 18, 2011)Jimm Bunch, president and CEO of Park Ridge Health, joined other hospital officials recently to present a check for $25,000 to Ruth Birge, executive director of the United Way of Henderson County. The funds were raised during a month-long campaign at Park Ridge Health, during which many of the 1,200 employees pledged support for the United Way’s community programs, including Park Ridge Health’s KidPower program.

KidPower is a community outreach program that helps prevent and treat childhood obesity and type 2 diabetes. Last year, KidPower served more than 1,000 children and their parents at locations throughout Henderson County.

"In this year of economic uncertainty, United Way and our partner agencies are grateful for this contribution from Park Ridge Health associates,” said Ms. Birge. “The dollars raised will go a long way to help Henderson County residents in the areas of education, income and health.”
